I’m stepping up to restore sight!

I’m taking on Fred’s Big Run this August to STEP UP TO RESTORE SIGHT!

My goal is to raise funds for The Fred Hollows Foundation to continue the legacy of an Australian legend, Fred Hollows.

Because right now, 9 out of 10 people who are blind don’t need to be...

And an operation that costs as little as $25 can help restore sight to someone who is needlessly blind, and change their life forever!

This is especially important to me since my teenage daughter was diagnosed earlier this year with retinitis pigmentosa which is already affecting her sight.

Well, that was quite the challenge. Tonight I reached my goal of 200 km for the month of August. Took me 22 days. Thanks to all who had faith in me and made their donations. My body needs a few days rest. That’s exactly what I will be doing in Queensland next week. But hey, what a great cause. It’s not too late to donate. Whats stopping you?

Revision of target fundraising goal

Friday 9th Aug
Incredibly generous people have boosted my funds raised to over $1000. Double my initial target of $500. According to the Run for Fred website that is enough to restore sight to 40 people. It’s only the 9th. I’m going to be bold and aim for $2000.God is good!

Thursday 8th Aug
Today was huge. sponsors donations came in all day. Smashed through my original target of $500. As I write this we’re just shy of $700. That’s the gift of sight to dozens of people! Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou. It’s 8 pm. I’ve just got home from Tassie and I’m so excited I’m going to go and notch up a few more k’s ✊

And it begins.
