I'm taking on Fred’s Big Run this August to STEP UP TO RESTORE SIGHT! 

My goal is to raise funds for The Fred Hollows Foundation to continue the legacy of an Australian legend, Fred Hollows. 

Because right now, 9 out of 10 people who are blind don't need to be...

And an operation that costs as little as $25 can help restore sight to someone who is needlessly blind, and change their life forever!

Thank you to everyone who supported my Fred Hollows Fredā€™s Big Run this month! I finished with a cheeky 5km at my local Fawkner Park yesterday morning, capping my 150km for the month. You have helped raise $2,308.34 restoring sight to 92 people šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ‘šŸ» I am so proud of my generous and supportive pals!Ā 

100km Milestone - keeping on plodding

Wednesday 21st Aug
Itā€™s week 3, I hit 100km on my run last night - 9 runs in, and getting through those ks.Ā 

Legs feel good, lagging a little bit in energy (how nice would a 3-day weekend be?!), but am happily staying the course knowing that I have the incredible support of so many pals behind me, and knowing the real difference donations are making in the lives of so many!Ā 

Watching the big moon this week, wondering at nature as ā€œfake springā€™ touches Melbourne, what a different and amazing world will be seen by those due to the generosity gifted here.Ā

Wow, wow, WOW!!

Thursday 8th Aug
Day 7, 4 runs & 41 kms down - - but totally floored by the incredible generosity of so many awesome people who have smashed the roof off my fundraising goal and changed the lives of 76 people šŸ‘€ YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING! Thank you for your overwhelming support! What great humans I know.

My heart was full of all the warm fuzzies this evening, and I ventured out & around Albert Park Lake, chasing the light, and up against a strong headwind, to knock off nearly 9km for the start of week 2. Looking forward to linking up with my girl Mads at the weekend for some Princes Park and planning new mid-week routes for the remaining ks to come.

Thank you for being so inspiring and supportive of my efforts - itā€™s going a long way and .. just WOW!Ā

Day 1, Run 1 - Iā€™m go!

Thursday 1st Aug
Freezing day in Melbs today, but nothing stopping me starting off this evening with a Tan ++ route to start my 150km journey this month! Itā€™s sunset season, as I took in The Tan, the city from Church St Bridge, back & up around the MCG and along past Birrarung Marr and back to the Ballet Centre knocking off the first 10km.

Looking forward to company throughout the month - no distance is too small (Iā€™ll say if too long!). Please reach out if youā€™re making a comeback, upping the ks and need an accountability buddy, or just a chance for a chat & some nice scenery. Iā€™d love to hang out whilst I try & reach my goal.

You can help too - and no amount is too small. Every bit counts to help restore sight Ā and big a huge impact to the lives of many.Ā 

I am very proud of my efforts at the GC last weekend and it has made me even more confident I can go the extra distance - and hit 150km in August. Iā€™ll be out there sweating, in the cold, the rain if necessary to hit that goal. Anything you can give will help keep me inspired to turning the legs over and hitting my target.Ā
